MVC Model for Unit Test
There is no silver bullet to test web applications.
Behaviors of mouse and keyboard over browser is difficut to simulate. (pressing button or enter-key, etc)
One way is detaching business logic from *.jsp, *.php or *.asp code.
As a result, detaching code(functions or classes) can be tested and continuous integrated.
But many books tells us MVC model and Unit Test separately.
So we think that application model is nothing to do with test.
Do you really test code, manage code with CI tool, measure code coverage and release it ?
Use MVC model !
The rich get richer
But there are 10 to 15 new books every month that I should read.
I can’t catch the speed of publisher.
The guru, I know, read about 10 or more books in a month.
I have 24 hours a day, so he does.
But I can’t read books as many as he does.
He understands difficult subjects easier than me.
So He can read more books and has more knowlege than I.
He is much faster in those ways than me.
I think it is THE-RICH-GET-RICHER in software enginnering.
In a computer world, everything changes fast.
New technology comes in and old one goes out every day.
Geek who catches it will lead another technology in the future.
It is really unfair.
I have no choice but to read and study more than before.
Someone who doesn’t read books will lost programming jobs in several years.
I often tell such a story to new guys at work.
But I’m not sure they really share my feeling.
